about
My name is Matheus Brugge Milczwski, I'm a software developer, passionate about reading and computers, and now a blogger too.
I'm studying Software Engineering and swimming completely against the current: while the world of new devs seems to be summed up by knowing how to talk about AI, I'm here studying computer science fundamentals the hard way — what Akita calls "the pain of learning." Don't get me wrong, I'm not against using AI, but the way things are going, truly qualified people are going to be scarce in the future, and I intend to be in that group.
I've been working with software for three years. In that time I've been through quite a bit — websites, management systems like CRM and ERP, custom inventory management systems, point of sale... and some other things along the way.
I lean way more toward backend, as you've probably already noticed, but I don't limit myself to that. I work with frontend, and I've had contact with networking, infrastructure and AI. I don't stick to the label of "backend dev" or "frontend dev" — I know my limitations and I know where I still have a lot of room to grow, but my goal is to be the kind of professional who understands as much as possible about computing, without ignoring subjects that seem "outside my area."
Deep down, my career goal is to be able to replace an entire department on my own. Why? Honestly, I can't say. Maybe ego. Maybe the desire to prove to those who doubted me that I'm capable. One day I'll figure out the answer.
This blog exists as a place to publish the notes I would take anyway — about computing, architecture, fundamentals, and a dash of opinion when I think it's worth disagreeing with publicly.
